iOS 12.1.4 and battery drain
Since the upgrade my battery drains faster than ever. It's currently 1415MST and I am at 35%. Usually I'd be at 65-70% by this time of day. iPhone 6S Plus.

My battery is also draining at about twice the rate after updating to iOS 12.1.4. No offense to the experts, but I don't see any point in checking the battery usage by app, etc. Or in having the battery replaced. I just bought this phone in August, and I am using it EXACTLY as I was using it before I installed the new OS. I think Apple has screwed us again, as I heard they did before, with an OS that sucks the life out of batteries.
If I misunderstand the reasoning for checking battery usage, I would be happy to know that, as I am definitely not a phone expert. But I don't understand how the drain rate can double simply because of updating the OS, unless there is a big problem with the OS. Thanks for any information.

Hello,
1) Have you tried a restart? If not, do it now.
2) See the section "View battery usage information" in the link below to see the apps that are consuming your battery:
Maximizing Battery Life and Lifespan
3) Check “Battery Health” in the link:
iPhone Battery and Performance
4) If all else fails, consider a battery replacement:
Good luck.
Yea something is up cause I’m here looking for an answer on screen jitter when scrolling. Anyways this may be related because in my troubleshooting I noticed my ram on the iPhone XS Max is all tied up and my battery is draining as well. Now this is a brand new phone with no extra apps installed been running for two days. At first I figured Siri was indexing so I restored to factory vis iTunes with fresh copy of latest OS. So after two days my phone is still running 100 miles an hour.
I think apple has a serious ram leak in the OS. $1,500 phone and just browsing safari is so jittery that it makes me nauseated.
Respectfully, Philly_Phan, that doesn't change anything at all to the clear observation that before updating to iOS 12.1.4 my battery charge was lasting two days or more and now, with no change AT ALL in usage on my part, the same battery charge is lasting less than 24 hours. A number of people have reported exactly the same phenomenon and it is definitely happening to me. As one scientist said "the plural of anecdote is data."
I repeat what I said earlier : I would welcome some logical explanation of this problem that takes into consideration the facts that I have presented.
Also, thanks to MrBill3 for the suggestion to restart, which seems to be the only solution that might apply to my situation. Since my battery cratered overnight (good thing I wasn't counting on the phone alarm) it is now restarted and I will see whether that helps. If so, I will report.
I think Apple has screwed us again, as I heard they did before, with an OS that ***** the life out of batteries.
That claim has been made ever since IOS-2.
No anecdote. Fact.
