Burn-in, dimming, ghosting on Apple Watch S0 display

I have an original Apple Watch from 2015 which has slowly developed a more and more dim and purple-tinted display with permanent burn-in of my watch face and media controls. The attached photos are of the watch in flashlight mode. Strangely the screen appears a darker shade of purple in the photos than in real life. At this point it's pretty much impossible to see anything on the display outdoors.

Another curious thing I have found is that if I run the flashlight for a few hours, the display brightness improves marginally for a few days. I haven't run it for a really long time yet, such as overnight or for a number of days.

Is this the eventual fate of all our new OLED displays? I'm curious if anyone has had the same experience. Thanks!
