"sorry, there was a problem with the app" when sending messages through homepod

When i ask Siri to send a message, i get "sorry, there was a problem with the app". This only happens when sending messages, not when calling people, asking for music etc. my phone still sends messages through siri, so maybe a problem with the homepod itself? i have tried removing/resetting the homepod, but this didn't help. Any help would be appreciated!

I had a similar problem while using a custom shortcut created on my iPad and found a super easy fix. The HomePod recognized the command ok but returned “Sorry there Is a problem with the app” error. It was a problem with the shortcut app - and the resolution was to give shortcuts access to my contacts. Now when I run the command, Siri says, running your shortcut .. done!

Oh sorry I see you tried a reset with no luck.

i would troubleshoot your wifi network.

Start by unplugging the router for a minute , plug back in to reset that.

Your homepod will re-establish itself once the wifi is back online,

Reset network settings on your iphone , then join your network

keep Bluetooth turned on

software up to date on everything.
