Help: Kernel Panic interpretation needed!

Hey all,

recently, my 2016 Macbook Pro 15" stopped working.

It crashed without using it and I could never get the internal SSD back to work ever since.

Even a complete formatting and reinstalling failed.

Now, I run my system on an external SSD.

Since then, it crashed sometimes without any reason that I know of from a software side of things.

I got the Crash-log from the latest crash.

Is there anyone who can help interpreting this one?

Thanks

Julian

Can you clarify this is still the the external SSD you are booted to?

I can say NVME drive in referring to in the panic report appears to be your current Boot Drive is having issues.

We are trying to eliminate software issues with third party.

a SafeBoot  https://support.apple.com/en-us/HT201262 Takes noticeable longer to get to the login screen, does a 5 minute disk repair before it fully boots up, and certain system caches, dynamic loader cache,  etc.  get cleared and rebuilt.

This test will tell you if third party interference; extensions etc are not loaded in safe boot mode.

The official uninstaller should have remove all the AVG related files?

you uninstall OSXFUSE—you use the uninstall button in the preference pane? After you did this, OSXFUSE will be gone.

First thing to do is use the official uninstaller and remove the AVG ant-virus— this cause nothing but problems.

and test.

unplug any external USB devices.. these are all suspect, which you may not need.

com.github.osxfuse.filesystems.osxfuse 3.8.2

com.avg.PacketForwarder 2.1

com.avg.FileShield 4.0.0

ch.tripmode.TripModeNKE 2.0.2

com.samsung.portablessd.driver 1.5.02

Yes, I am running my system on an external SSD now.

The 2 reports that I have posted here refer to the external SSD.

As for the internal SSD: I could never get it back to work, even after formatting.

I get Kernel Panic all the time at different stages of the install of macOS:

Have been to 2 different Apple certified shops, both of them ran various test.

They say it is either the internal SSD or the logic board.

The external SSD, wich I use now, works fine most of the time, despite some crashes every now and then.

I cannot send my machine to Apple cause it's my main working machine (music production) and I need it all the time.

My hope was to find out, that the Kernel Panic and problems are a damaged internal SSD and not the logic board.

So I hoped, the report will clarify and point out to the problem.

I will do the SafeBoot for sure.

I cannot uninstall FUSE as I need it for my cloud service.

Do you recommend using a different system for cloud storage because FUSE is problematic for the file system?

Thanks a lot!

I would have a current backup preferably 2 complete backups on more than one device.

As for as your internal SSD I see no way around the logic board/SSD replacement.

>>> The external SSD is brand new, but I put an time machine backup of my old system on there...<<<<

As for as your present external boot drive— seems to be failing or

It is possible the enclosure is failing or the cable has a fault.

All drives will fail at some point, sometimes new out of the box.

to trouble shoot further the Safeboot should get around fuse to test in that environment. If you uninstall it to test, you can always reinstall it. My feeling is cloud base backup is a risk I am not willing to take for mission critical work—you have no control of the proprietary cloud.

I did boot in Save mode > Nothing to report. Everything works like expected.

The Kernel Panics with the external boot drive so far only occur when using disk utility or installing software.

Somehow it feels like it's failing once the mac tries to speak with the internal drive in some way even that it is not in use.

Well, it works most of the time.

I also don't see a way around the logic board/SSD replacement to use the internal SSD.

But I would be ok with just using the system on the external SSD from now on.

Hope the problems won't happen more often in the future, even with the external boot drive.
