iPod Classic will not sync with iTunes

I have over 10,000 songs on my classic and have always been able to sync new downloaded music. Now, I cannot sync anything. I connect device but nothing happens. I downloaded latest version of iTunes and have a new PC. How can I restore my ability to sync several new pieces of music from my PC?

Did you move the library properly from the old computer? If not this will be a new library with respect to the device and the old sync selections will be ignored. Syncing with an empty library can erase the contents of the device. See Move your iTunes library to a new computer - Apple Community.
