Old macbook pro (2012) won't update to v10.8, can't use app store

can't use app store until I update my OS but can't update OS without accessing app store ????????

MacBook Pro 2012 is supported on El Capitan, High Sierra, and Mojave, but you'll first have to install El Capitan...



Make certain you have at least one external backup created before upgrading.


Upgrades don't fail very often, but they do fail.
