imac recovery modes

i install a new hard drive and try booting from the optical drive,

tried all of the recovery key combination and

the flashing folder still appears

the hardware checks indicates no issues but machine

still not booting up.

2007's are too old to have recovery; you will need your original install disks. FWIW, what is "24 1432"??


Here are all the models introduced in 2007:

And here is the list of Macs that could be upgraded to recovery:


https://support.apple.com/en-us/HT202313


So, if yours is not on this list, you will need either your install disks, boot from another source, clone back a bootable clone you have on an external drive, or purchase a Snow Leopard disk from Apple (which is Snow Leopard:

And, lastly, did you format the new hard drive? You will need to do that first (you can do that while booted into another source).

What model iMac do you have? It sounds like it may be an older iMac. Do you happen to have the original Install DVD's that came with it?


This article explains the various macOS recovery options. Try booting using the various options listed in the document to see if any work on your system. If you cannot boot into macOS Recovery mode please provide more detailed information about your iMac.
