My Apple Watch series 3 does not show laps during the swim workout anymore, only when you stop the session it shows the number of laps in the session overview screen.
Resetting the Apple Watch shortly before the swim workout fixes the issue for that session, but the problem returns for every next session after that (unless you reset it again).
A fix for this issue would be nice as resetting the watch every time is not ideal.

First check your Watch is updated to 5.1.3. If it is unpair and repair your Watch.
Hi Sean, so, after unpairing and repairing, and after 4 swim sessions, the lap counter still works as expected. So my problem seems to be fixed. Thanks for your help!!
Hi Sean, yes the Watch is on 5.1.3 I just unpaired it and paired it again as a new Watch (so not restored from backup). I will monitor if the problem is now fixed in my next swimming workouts and post back in this article in a couple of days.
