iPhone XS not charging when connected to lightening cable

I have update iOS 12.1.4 and my iPhone XS will not charge when connected to lightening cable, unless I wake it up after connecting to the charger. Is there another update available or a setting that needs to be set to correct this? I was unaware of this issue until I woke up today and my phone hasn’t charged.

Follow all the steps provided in this support guide:

If your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch won't charge - Apple Support

If the issue still persists, since your device is on warranty, have your iPXS inspected at an Apple Store or Authorized Service Provider: Apple – Location Selector
