Resetting passcode on an Apple Watch with a cracked screen

I have a 2 month old series 3 apple watch that somehow got a diagonal crack in the face. No idea how this happened, but the warrant apparently the warranty doesn't cover this (I'll never buy another one). The crack is not even noticeable, but causes a functional problem. Because the crack passes through one of the numbers in my passcode, I cannot unlock the watch. I am trying to change the passcode to a series of numbers that will work with the crack in the screen, but I have to unlock the watch in order to change the passcode. That's not possible. Anyone know what I can do?
