I need to figure out how to print text messages from my iPhone

I've used PhoneView (Mac) very successfully for years. It will allow you to create either txt or pdf files that you can easily print. If you have a Windows computer, take a look at TouchCopy (Mac or Windows).

The Messages app has no print dialog, so screenshots and print them from the Photos app is your best bet.
