Green Hue on Secondary HDMI Monitor

When the display is re-activated after it has been asleep, the screen has a green hue - as if the red channel is missing.

This occurs consistently whenever the computer is "awoken" from display sleep or computer sleep and if I unplug the HDMI and plug it back in it comes back on with the normal display.

I've tried different HDMI cord just incase it was something as simple as that but no difference.

This has been an issue for a quite a while now. I am currently using Mojave 10.14.3

MacBook Pro 13", macOS 10.14

Hello SScoglio,

Thank you for using the Apple Support Communities. I understand you're seeing an issue with colors on an external display.

Trying a different HDMI cable was a great idea. If you connect your Mac to a different display, do you see similar issues? Also, do you ever see this type of behavior on your built-in display, or is it only with this specific monitor?

You may be able to clear this up with a reset of your NVRAM, depending on whether it happens with another display. Your NVRAM contains a few settings that may be relevant to the issue. When you reset your NVRAM, you may have to adjust your resolution, volume, and a few other settings after, but your data is otherwise unaffected: Reset NVRAM or PRAM on your Mac

If you find the same behavior persists after resetting the NVRAM, try creating a temporary administrator account on your Mac. Then, log in there and see if the same thing happens; knowing this will help narrow things down a bit. Here are the steps: How to test an issue in another user account on your Mac

I hope this helps get you started.

Take care.
