No image preview in Finder or in Adobe

I have a late 2014 iMac and suddenly, in the last week, lost the ability to preview icons in the finder. As a designer this is enormously frustrating. Have tried all the fixes, have run utility repair, Onyx, everything I can think of and still no image preview. I've even downloaded update to Mojave to try to fix. I've thrown out finder preferences, literally have tried everything.

Absolutely stumped and incredibly frustrated. Anyone have a fix for this?

The suggestion to test in a new user account is a good one. That will let you and us know if the problem is specific to your account.

If it just happens in your account, delete Finder preferences.

Press command-shift-G, paste the following line

~/Library/Preferences/com.apple.Finder.plist

and drag the file com.apple.Finder.plist to the trash.

Then logout and login, and see if things work as they should.

After deleting

~/Library/Preferences/com.apple.finder.plist

you need to restart Finder (hold down Option key, right click on Finder icon on Dock > Relaunch, or just logoff\logon from macOS), after that check again options per first post (In Finder->View->Show View Options, check "Show Icon Preview")

If it doesn't help, is it an option for you to start a new life with new user account?

You can always copy any folders you need from older one. Idea is to separate your setting out of data. It will be faster than searching the root cause of this issue.
