New iTunes account cannot make purchase

Hi, I hadn't done this before but...

I just opened a new iTunes account. username / password/ credit card info, ect.

When I went to make a purchase it said

"Your purchase could not be completed. For assistance contact iTunes support.

Please help, thanks

If you haven't already done so do as instructed and contact iTunes Support (these are user forums, not iTunes Support) :

- go to http://www.apple.com/support/itunes/ww

- click on your country's flag (the country where you are, and which is therefore the country on your account)

- click on Contact Support towards the top right

- click on Get Help under 'Talk To Us'
