Spotlight does not find content in Numbers

Spotlight doesn't work with Numbers (version 5.3 (5989)), but everything else. In System Preferences>Spotlight, I do have Spreadsheets selected. I have rebuilt the index in the manner of adding the hard drive to System Preferences>Spotlight>Privacy and then removing it from Privacy, to no avail. The same word can added to a Pages document and a Numbers spreadsheet and Spotlight will find the document but not the spreadsheet. MacOS 10.13.6.

It got fixed. I think it was in 10.14.2, or maybe it was a version slightly before that.

I think that is the intent. Apple is quick to abandon and move on and seems to care little about backward compatibility. If you have multiple devices; opening an iWork document on a newer device (or on iCloud) or in a newer version might make it totally unusable on your older one(s).

My Mac is too old to load the latest OS version. I guess that, along with other things, forces the issue about buying a new Mac. Thanks!
