STOP DELETING JUNK MAIL AUTOMATICALLY AFTER 30 DAYS!!!!

I want control of my Data and Email!!! iCloud Automatically Deletes mail that has been Automatically Filtered by iCloud and called Junk, which is sooo often Wrong!!! After 30 Days, Automatically. Im losing important Data/Emails!! And I can't change the settings in iCloud. I can't stop the filtering, I can't stop the auto-deleting. All I can do is check each and every email that is in the Junk Folder and Move each and everyone that is not real spam to my inbox. A time consuming effort and one prone to missing the 30 day window if Im to busy to think about it often enough. I WANT CONTROL OF MY DATA!!! I got 1 TB of iCloud space I pay for, I don't care home much my Junk takes of that. I want to prevent this auto deletion. OSX Mail is set to NEVER DELETE JUNK and used to hold all my old Junk, bu now, syncs and Deletes the Junk despite the setting and keeps the Junk folder the same as iClouds which is Automatically Deleted every 30 days. This is what happened today.... Looked for Doctor for Ear infection from 2 years ago. Found email saying they where changing medical portals and I would receive an invite in 24 hr. My IN BOX did not have this email invite from a third party. Figuring it was filtered to Junk as many a email like this is, but my Junk Mail is not on my OSX Mail app from that long ago anymore. Only 30 days. This was May 2018. I missed reading that email then and missed checking my Junk mail then and now, its GONE FOR GOOD!!!! Which is NOT GOOD!!!! I WANT TO CHANGE MY ICLOUD DEFAULTS TO NOT FILTER AND OR NOT DELETE MY JUNK EMAIL!!!!!!! My choice, my data/email, my iCloud space Im paying for!!!!! I don't care if this is ok for 90% of all Apple Customers. It does not work for me or many others. Stop it, its not Cool!!!!!!

You can move the junk mails to inbox see this article https://support.apple.com/en-in/guide/mail/junk-mail-preferences-cpmlprefjunk/mac

Or set up advanced settings , if mail is coming from a particular sender and mail applications treats it as junk and you don't want to move that mail in junk mail folder and get deleted after 30 days , create rules see this article https://support.apple.com/en-in/guide/mail/change-junk-mail-advanced-settings-cpmlprefjunkadd/12.0/mac/10.14

Check the box of perform custom actions and click on advanced .

The rules can be set by clicking on drop down arrows for each and click on ok .

if you had created an Apple ID and its address is same as web mail account like gmail , yahoo etc

And you configure the apple mail application by just signing in the location system preferences > iCloud see this article https://support.apple.com/en-in/guide/mail/set-up-mail-with-your-email-accounts-mail35803/mac

And what ever rule you create in IMAP mail preferences it will be followed , the mails are definitely deleted from iCloud server after 30 days , but these rules can be override say create a new mail box in on my Mac section see this article

https://support.apple.com/en-in/guide/mail/create-or-delete-mailboxes-mlhlp1021/mac

And you want that mails that are treated as junk are moving in junk folder should not move in junk folder and don't want to get it deleted , create a rule and move them to the new mail box , this way you can save them .

There has to be a bug somewhere. overriding Mac Mail Preference of Do Not Delete Junk Mail.

If you suspect a serious bug and Apple Support could not help you, consider to file a bug report so the developer team will see the problem.

A bug report will allow you to supply the developer team with a detailed description of your setup, much better than you can provide here in a public forum:

Or someone tell me how to change iCloud defaults to STOP FILTERING and STOP AUTO DELETING.

I gave you the link to Apple's instructions on how to use iCloud junk filtering. Did you read it? It also has additional links at the bottom.

And please do stop shouting.

Yes I did read it and it does not address how to turn off filtering or turn off automatic delete. The “manual” process to unjunk mail is not practical or prevent losses emails. I’m not interested in my email being a constant game of ‘press the button’ to prevent disasater. Like those digital pets from yester year. And the IS a shoutable issue! It’s so absurd to not have personal control over this. The tech should serve me not I it.

Did you miss the part where I said everyone reading your post is one of your fellow users? In addition to being rude, shouting at us is pointless. We cannot make the changes you want.

Thanks you for this, went through Senior Apple iCloud Support regarding this (although they say they do not know much about the Mac Mail App). They claim what happens on with the Mac Mail App, happens in iCloud with regard to rules. Only iCloud (Server Side) seems to still Filter Junk on its own, outside the Mac Mail App. And if the Mac Mail App is off, as when my laptop is traveling, it seems Mac Mail App Rules are not applied. iCloud Rules are very limited, without this above ability. Mac Mail seems to be devalued in priority to iCloud server rules and this seems to be something new, as I went to an older mac I upgraded from and the Junk Mail in its Mac Mail was still intake for at least the last year (but one month short of my recent need). I still have my Mac Mail Preference set to Never Delete Junk Mail, but it is being ignored and my Mail Mail Junk folder is identical to my iCloud Web Mail folder, with Junk Mail filtering on Mac Mail not enabled. There has to be a bug somewhere. overriding Mac Mail Preference of Do Not Delete Junk Mail. Apples Documented Reason for 30 Day Auto Delete is save iCloud Space. I have purchased 1TB iCloud space. I have plenty of room for Junk Mail. Now turning to Rules. eg: iCloud filtering will let some Amazon through and not others. No rhyme or reason why. The filter does not work well. However I will re-try to enable Mac Mail Junk Filtering. Obscurely it does say somewhere if want iCloud and Mac Mail Junk folders synced, to use Mac Mail Junk Filtering. Makes no sense from previous experience when Mac Mail is not running, and from viewing the limited options in iCloud settings, but I've already lost all the old Junk (but not spam and some valuable) Mail (except on old computer). Thanks.
