How To delete documents & data for iPhone photos

when you delete your iPhone photos from device & iCloud (that you don’t want) but when you go to manage storage it’s still saying that space is being taken for documents & data when that much space isn’t really being used. How can you get rid of it? Do I have to erase the entire iPhone to make it go away & get my full space back. I don’t have this much gigs being used on camera roll pls help. It’s luke glitches or something.

Hi dayvonta,

Thanks for coming to Apple Support Communities for help today. It sounds like you are concerned about your devices storage.

Have a look at: How to check the storage on your iPhone, iPad, and iPod touch and "If your device is low on storage, iOS automatically frees up space while installing an app, updating iOS, downloading music, recording videos, and more. To make more storage available, iOS can remove some of your items, like streamed music and videos, files in iCloud Drive, and parts of apps that aren't needed. It also removes temporary files and clears the cache on your device. iOS only removes items that can be downloaded again or that aren't needed anymore."

Have you connected to iTunes on a computer to see if the same storage is shown? After deleting everything did you restart?

If you are still concerned about storage, you can always restore your iPhone through iTunes: Restore your iPhone, iPad, or iPod to factory settings. Then just sign in, but don't restore any backup you may have made.

I hope that helps.

Have a great weekend!

No I haven’t connected my iPhone to a computer for iTunes . Because I have no way to do so lol😂😭🙈. The only thing that I’ve been trying to do & been doing was disablng iCloud photos & wait for the 30 days to expire & then I delete everything from camera roll. I might just erase everything from the phone because that’s not making the storage return to normal. I really don’t know how much storage space I really have. Because it says that much gigs are being taken when it’s not being calculated correctly. I appreciate the help & I’ll do my best to figure this out.

But at the same time k mind of afraid of erasing the content on my iPhone because this iPhone was given to me k Christmas Day 2017 & I wouldn’t know if I’ll be able to use the iPhone again if it says connect or plug to iTunes to get started when I have no way to do that. I might have to just risk it all lol😂 but I hope that you have a great weekend also 🤙🏽🤙🏽
