Q: iPhone 4 won't stop vibrating

Today I was surfing the net and my iPhone 4's screen went black and proceeded to vibrate nonstop. I was suggested to hold the Lock and home button to reset, but that did not work. I am now waiting for the battery to go dead. Has anyone else ran into this issue?

Exactly same thing happened with my phone as well, Holded the home & power button for 10 seconds and it worked. But seems like this is a serious issue with the iOS4. Hope Apple has already started working on this and will resolve the issue in there next software release.

Mine just did the same thing.

I fixed it by plugging it into its charger -- it stopped vibrating at that point.  I then pressed and held the power button (atop the device) for a few second and the iPhone came on without issue.   All performed in less than a minute.

My iPhone 4 has started to have many problems in the last 6 months.   Can't wait for the next phone so I can prop my door open with this one.

Hi: I have an iPhone 4 with iOS5 and today it started vibrating without stopping.  The "hold the power and home buttons" trick worked.  Everything is fine now.  So iOS5 has the same problem.

Recently updated myiPhone4 to IOS5. Was driving around on an errand and the phone started to vibrate in the cupholder where I usually keep it. Had to pull over into a gas station and tried every combination that the external buttons offer. Nothing worked. For whatever reason, after buzzing for 3 - 4 minutes it stopped. Now, it wouldn't power on. Nothing I do seems to have any affect on it (start button, power button, charging, synching).

Taking it to the store this evening.

Any ideas what causes this? Has to be something that causes this issue, if it's so common..

I believe it to be an iPhone 4 hardware problem.   As over 300 of my clients who have iPhone 4's, a small percentage of them are having this issue -- both iOS5 and not.

I have this issue and I have an iPhone 4.  My iPhone 4s will be arriving shortly, so I won't have this issue any longer.

Today mornig I had the same experience with my iPhone 4. I kept my phone on vibratiing mode over night. When I saw my phone is vibrating I picked up the phone, thought of someone calling me. Home button is not working, no dislay is coming and just black screen. I tried all buttons include, reset, volume etc but no use. Phone continued vibrating for hours. I plugged into my laptop and iPhone is not detecting. I called the support, but unfortunately no one was available, because of thanksgiving holiday. I made an appointment on Saturday and waiting to get my phone in working condition. Apple gave me a remembering thanksgiving day!..

Just now my  iPhone4 started vibrating non-stop and immediately i surfed google regarding this issue.... got this post. I pressed its reset button for about 10 sec and it worked. Folks.... some one thinks that its with iOS4, but mine is iOS5 updated recently found same issue, so this issue is not a software issue, its purely a hardware set back in iPhone models.... need to check with the new model iPhone 4S one of my friend got it recently. If it exists in iPhone4S also then God help Apple!!!!!

My 1st iphone: Center Bottom wont response well. After long arguing. They replace me another one.

My 2nd iphone shot down all the time. When I try to talk to apple store. They said everything will be fine if I install the new version.

Right after I install the new version. I lost all my apps include all my passwords in the safe note.

Two days after I installed the new version. My iphone start vibrating none stop until battery die and now can not even start it again.

Even if apple give me a new phone. I wonder how they gonna give me all my lose of hours and my informations???

My friends all laugh at me when I decide to buy an iphone. Now I think this is the first and the last apple products I will have.

I don't mind their products easy to broke. But I think they have to have service for that.

I just hang up with my friend on face time and end the call. Not even 5 min later, my iphone 4 vibrating like crazy and would not stop. So i did the hard reset, which took a while before the apple logo come up. Once the apple logo come up, the vibrating stop. I guess i was luck to get it to hard reset, but for some ppls on here have to wait for the battery to die. This is just like the MIC issue. You can hear the other person, but they can't hear you. Apple know about this issue and they can only replace your iphone free if still have warranty, but if warranty expires. You will have to pay 149 plus tax for the replacement. They will give u the replacement phone and send your jack phone back to apple. Well that is my 2cents and i hope apple will look into this issue.
