+1 prefix in phone numbers
Last night my incoming calls are showing a +1 prefix so they aren’t being recognized in my contacts

I don't think a Verizon iPhone has this, but just in case:
Check Settings > Phone. Is there a "Dial Assist" setting? If so, it should certainly be "On".
If not, try force restarting your iPhone as follows (assuming you have an iPhone 8):
If one of the above doesn't solve it, I am out of ideas. Maybe Verizon could assist.
"+1" is the international dialing code for the United States.
That might be a change in Verizon's network. Try with Dial Assist off, also.
Go to Settings/Phone and make sure Dial Assist is on.
I am in the US and this just started last night. Any idea how to fix?
Sorry to hear that. Verizon's support has gone way downhill over the past few years. They apparently fired most of their tech support people and replaced them with inexperienced sales people. One of my friends was a support manager with them, and was laid off after 20 years.
Well, it sounds like something has changed.
You are in the U.S. OK, that answers one of the six questions I asked above.
Yes I’m in the US, have always been, Verizon is and always has been my carrier, settings shows US. My phone number is now showing the +1 prefix as well.
oops, responded to the wrong post. Will try again
Dial assist is on and I e tried restarting my phone several times but no luck
Dial assist on or off doesn’t change things.
I cant get an actual person at Verizon to talk with.
