Please can you let me know how old my iMac is by it serial no

Here are a few ways that I know of using the serial number.


  1. go to > Check Your Service and Support Coverage - Apple Support enter the serial # and distorted password.
  2. go to > http://www.chipmunk.nl/klantenservice/applemodel.html enter the serial # and click show info.
  3. go to > https://everymac.com/ultimate-mac-lookup/ enter the serial # and click lookup.

This information is not available outside Apple, and it's not a good idea to post your serial number: I've asked the Hosts to remove it. However, you can find your Mac's age easily yourself. Click on the Apple Menu icon at the extreme left of the menu bar and choose 'About this MAC'. In the pane which opens click 'More info...': the pane which then opens shows you when the Mac was released, like this:


This may look slightly different depending on the age of the Mac but the basic principle is the same.
