how can you recover whatsapp messages from an old phone if they were not backed up?

I am wondering how to recover 6-month old whatsapp messages if they were never backed up via icloud. I got a new phone and none of my messages saved. I tried using the iMyFone D-Back iPhone Data Recovery software but it only helps recover messages from the original phone. Any chance someone knows how to solve this issue?

iPhone 7, iOS 12

You will have to ask WhatsApp support for a definitive answer, but as a rule, If you didn't back it up, it's gone.

They're gone forever. This shows the benefit of backing up, especially when replacing a phone.
