Unable to activate iPhone 6 after software update

I went to the apple store in the uk where they reset my iPhone 6 to factory settings. I am since unable to activate the phone. I have no access to iTunes. An escalation ticket was raised by the store with the note it would take 48 hrs to get fixed but nothing. The message keeps saying that the phone cannot be activated as the activation server cannot be found. I am on WiFi so no network issues. How best can this issue be fixed ?
