If the trim bar is really small because you're trying to isolate a minute of lets say an hour long clip can you zoom into the section so it takes up the entire trim bar for a more accurate trim?
You can do the same thing in Imovie when choosing what portions to add.
I swear I did this by mistake the first time i used the trim feature and now I'm not sure if it was a glitch or what.
can anybody confirm or deny this for me?

I did some testing and I'm not finding any way to zoom in on the timeline bar when using Trim. You might be able to use the built-in Zoom feature on your Mac as a workaround though. To try it out, click Apple menu () > System Preferences > Accessibility > Zoom. Make sure "Use keyboard shortcuts to zoom" is checked. Then, try Command + Option + 8 to zoom in and out to see if this works for you. You can also send feedback directly to Apple if this is a feature you'd like to see in QuickTime Player: Product Feedback
