Removing the need for passwords on supervised IPADS

We have a school that requires its IPADS to have no passcode for the kids to use.

The IPADS are in Apple school and use Mosyle as an MDM.

We cannot remove or change the passcode option from the supervised devices.

Is there anyway to do this or do we have to remove from Apple School and rebuild without logging into an Apple ID.

Hi,

First of all, I don't have knowledges about Mosyle MDM. However, you should be able to do that by sending a settings profile on the iPads. In the settings profile, you have to configure Restrictions policy and disable "Allow modification of the code" option, which is enabled by default. This will only apply for supervised devices.

By adding this restriction, the "Passcode" option become greyed in the iOS Settings and the user cannot change it on the device. If there is no passcode enabled when you apply the profile, the kids will not be able to set one.

I use this setting for many supervised iPads (usually in schools) but I use Profile Manager from Apple Server as a MDM. You can probably do the same with Mosyle.

Best regards,

Christian
