iPhone 4 Issues

Has anyone had issues where there iPhone 4 putting itself into restore mode? Mine did and I had to download a new copy of iOS4 for it, weighing in at 550mb! It did it to me while shopping out and about. After contacting the Apple support line, they said the only way to access the restore mode is by holding the menu button, while the phone is turned off and connected to iTunes, very bizzare. I have also had issues when i unlock the phone from having it in my pocket, the signals bars show only 1 bar, I realise there are signal issues, but has anyone had these specific issues? Please share.

I had something similar with my old first gen iPhone. A couple of times it had a catastrophic crash whilst in general use. Forced a restart and asked to be connected to iTunes for a restore. (Annoyingly happened once a couple of days into a holiday abroad).

Maybe there was something wrong with the OS and needed restoring. If doing this has fixed it, it's a non issue, put it down to a gremlin in the machine (remember, it's just a computer like your desktop, sometimes things get corrupted). If it's still doing it repeatedly, then take it back to the retailer.
