Apple TV 4K slow Ethernet connection

Just got the Apple TV 4K, to replace the failed amazon streamer, with more connectivity with my apple stuff. Noticed a fairly lengthy buffering wait and found that Speedtest gave 1/3 the speed for the Apple TV vs other clients, including WiFi. Wondering what might be changed to allow a better connection. Also, how to go about trying WiFi as the primary (only?) connection as a fix. Always workarounds!

To opt for a Wi-Fi connection, unplug anything from the ethernet port on the Apple TV, and then select the SSID (network name) in Settings﹥Network, and enter the Wi-Fi password.

Ethernet speeds can be reduced by under spec cables, or under spec switches/hubs/repeaters/network gear.

Use Cat 5e or better spec cables. Cat 5 or earlier has lesser bandwidth capacity. Cable damage or sloppy attached plugs (e.g. crimp your own connector) can reduce capacity.

Under spec network gear (less than gigabit) will create a bottleneck. Although 100 megabit should still suffice for TV use.
