Two factor authentification on Android

I am setting up my computer using Mountain Lion and when I enter my account it seems the two factor authentification is not working. I use an android phone and I am not getting any codes from it.

El Capitan or later is required, per Availability of two-factor authentication for Apple ID - Apple Support. Once you’ve checked your key apps, and checked that your printer vendor has drivers available, and you have an external backup or two, and the required El Capitan upgrade (or later) is completed, then you’ll want to get the verification codes via a trusted phone number setup, which is device independent.
