edit initial comment for icloud shared album

When I created a Photos "Shared Album", it let me type in a comment. So, I wrote in some of the people. I by mistake wrote So-and-so's niece, but it was their grandchild. How can I edit this initial comment?

I do not want to delete the album and start all over. It's already gone out to people I shared with. Some have gotten the message, some haven't. Some people, but not all, have already "joined".

This "Comment (Optional)" field will be used for the individual photos you have selected, when you create the shared album. It is not a comment for the album, just a shortcut to add an individual comment to your photos, when you create the album.

  • If you have no photos selected at all and create an empty album, it does nothing at all. The comment will just be ignored and your effort to write the comment has been wasted.
  • If you have one or more photos selected, when you create the album, the comment will appear as an individual comment on the first first photo in the shared album after all photos have been uploaded.

This is how it is working for me inPhotos 4.0 on Mojave.

I would like to know what happens with the "Comment (Optional)" text in the dialog to create a shared album. Does anyone know? That's what my question is about, not about comments on individual photos. I just created a "test" album with some dummy text in the "Comment (Optional)" field, and then I shared it with one of my email addresses. None of that dummy text shows up in the email invitation to subscribe to my shared album. When I go to the album in Photos, that text is nowhere to be found as far as I can tell. Does anyone know?

By the way, here's Apple's doc "iCloud: Invite people to view your shared albums in iCloud", for creating a shared album.

They show the "Comment (Optional)" field, but give no information what that field is for. I guess that would be too complicated. :(
