Hi I have my media already imported from my camera on to my external drive. I have recently installed the FCP trial and want to access the already downloaded media from the external drive.
Do do I need to import again or is there another way? I don’t want to duplicate the media.

When you hit the Import window of FCP X, select Leave Files in Place.
This will create SymLinks to the real files stored on the external.
