Xs Smart Battery Case is harmful to the internal battery?

I have a Iphone Xs and use a smart battery case since it's on the market. Today I noticed that in my battery health it says 96% of max capacity. While my wife's Xr purchased at the same time, dec last year, has 100%. She charges her phone once a day, while I charge mine once every 2 days sometime. We both use the same wireless charging pads.

If it drains the battery case as most people believe, the internal battery should have less charging cycles. My iphone should have better battery health than my wife's. But it's not. I guess instead of draining the battery case first. Iphone might use the internal battery and the case constantly charges the phone.

The control group is my wife is Xr without battery case. I agree it’s not apple to apple comparison, but that’s apple’s job to make sure their branded accessories won’t have negative impact. As an end user I’m reporting what I see. I strongly suspect it’s battery case until anyone can explain why a phone with battery case will decay more.

I can confirm the same thing happened to my XS as well. I saw these posts before buying the case, so I checked my battery health before, during and after use of the case for five days. The evening after removing the case, battery health was still at 100% but the phone did not charge past 96% overnight or the next morning. When I restarted the phone, charge showed as 100% but battery health dropped to 96%.
