opening Final Cut Pro 7 files

How can I open Final Cut 7.0x projects with FC Pro X10.4 ?

MacBook Pro 15", macOS 10.13

In short, you can't directly.

There is third party app call 7 to X that can do the job.

You would first need to be able to export an XML from the FCP7 project. That XML can be used in the conversion utility.

Thanks. Is the conversion utility included in FC Pro X 10.x.x ? In the File menu there is an "Import..." sub-menu with the option to import XML files. I'll try this option.

The SendToX utility is not including in FCPX. Have you been able to export an XML from FCP7?

Yes but the FCP 7 exprted .xml file cannot be imported directly by FCP X. So if there's no other "in-house" option offered by Apple in FCPX, I will have to buy SendToX. But given the number of FCP 7 projects I have, having to pay is not even worth mentionning.

No, built in function. That’s why Intelligent Assistant built the utility. You can use the same route to also move Premiere projects to FCPX.
