Double Monitors

Is it possible to set up a MacBook Pro such that two monitors can be used simultaneously to display work, open windows, safari sites, etc? I have spent MANY MANY years in the business world in which two computer screens is/was the norm.

I much prefer my Mac, but would really like to have two screens to work on as I had for so long while using a PC. Can I set my iPad and MacBook up to work together this way? How? Could I purchase another monitor for this purpose? Any recommendations of kinds of monitors?

Thank you. Gretchen

Yes. Most recent MacBook Pros support up to 2 additional displays.

You can use most PC compatible displays and monitors with a Mac like you do with a PC.

You cannot use an iPad as an additional display for a Mac however. At least not directly. There is 3rd party software that allows this, but generally its done over wifi or ethernet network, and get very laggy.
