volume buttons

Hello, my macbook air is having some problems with the volume buttons. if I press the increse volume button or the mute a weird control center comes up (only if a web browser is open), but if i press the volume down all the tabs i have opened go to the outside of the screen and they return if i press it again. What should i do?

I don´t know if this is relevant or not, but my macbook air just updated and i have restarted it again after this started happening this afternoon.
