How to get album artwork on iPod without using iTunes?

So I used iTunes to 'Get Album Artwork' which there are 5 songs in the album and only one song on my iPod was showing the album artwork. I tried re-downloading the songs, but they won't download to my iPod. Is there anyway from the iPod I could just add the album artwork to each song or do I have to manually do this through iTunes?

Hopefully that's not too confusing! Thanks!

iPod, iOS 12

Hi missanh,

Thank you for using the Apple Support Communities. I see you're running into an issue with some album artwork.

You mentioned you were unable to re-download the songs. To clarify, what was the source of these songs? Were they purchased in the iTunes Store, added from the Apple Music library, or imported from CD into the iTunes app? Also, what happened when you tried re-downloading?

If the songs were originally imported from CD and then synced through iTunes, you'd need to use iTunes as you mentioned: Add artwork to content in iTunes on Mac

On the other hand, if this was content from Apple Music or the iTunes Store, I recommend starting by making sure your device is updated: How to back up your iPhone, iPad, and iPod touch and Update your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch

I hope this helps get you started.

Cheers.
