iBooks crashes on iPad Mini

While searching and looking for new books the app constantly crashes. I can read books I have purchased just fine, but I can't look at new books with the intent to purchase. This doesn't happen on my iPhone. I'm running iOS 12.1.4 on both devices. I've uninstalled/reinstalled the app a couple of times with the same results. Any ideas would be welcomed.
