Apple Photos in iMovie without copying files

Hello!

Is there any way, how I can use videos and images from Apple Photos in iMovie, without importing it to iMovie Library? I would like to remove redundancy of the files and keep it in one shared library...

MacBook Pro 15", macOS 10.14

You can store your photos in the Photos app and they will be accessible from the Photos item in the iMovie media side bar. They will no be in your iMovie library. Only the photos that you drag into a project will go into your iMovie library. iMovie projects refer to the photos contained in the iMovie library Original Media folder for the project. So there is no way to avoid putting the photos that you are using into the iMovie library.
