I have had Toast Titanium installed on my machine for quite a few years, since at least as far back as version 11, and probably a lot earlier than that. I can't remember now. I rarely ever use it now.

But after reading your comments here, I pulled out my old OWC Mercury Pro CD-RW & DVD RW burner -- which uses USB 2.0 -- and I plugged it into my 2017 27" 5K iMac running Mojave 10.14.3. In Toast, the burner is listed as "Pioneer DVD-RW DVR-111D", so it is a pretty ancient model. It doesn't even handle dual-layer DVDs. :)

Current Toast version is 17.4.

I put a 4.37 GB RW DVD in the slot, and then dragged one of my granddaughter's 4.37 GB movie files into Toast. Toast burned it and verified it just fine without a single hitch. I am now playing the movie.

So, that is a firsthand account of using Toast Titanium 17.4 in the latest version of Mojave. I hope it is helpful to you. YMMV :)
