iCloud verification

I got an email that said I needed to verify my iCloud account becaue someone had signed in over in Finland. Does Apple send things like that? How do I know it’s not a scam?

No, Apple does not send email messages like that. It is most likely a scam.

I would be very suspicious of any email asking for “verification” of any account especially if they provided links to do so. Apple do send out mail to say if another device logged in to iCloud.com (or is Apple ID, forget which one) but it’s just a confirmation and doesn’t request info.
