No Permission to Edit File

Occasionally I run into this problem: When I attempt to edit a file that I previously created, I get a message that I do not have permission to edit. The only option at this point, is to create a duplicate file for editing. This issue occurs even with a file I have recently created. Very frustrating.


I have gone to File menu > Get Info & verified that I (the administrator) indeed has permission to both read & write.


Could someone kindly help me to resolve this issue? Thank you so much.

Perhaps you need to do a more general permissions clean-up, meaning your entire Home folder. Here is a link which will tell you how to do that. I hope it helps:
