denied write access to Itunes media folder

My computer died and bought new one. My ITunes songs were kept on external hard drive. When I connected new computer to the rnal hard drive it allowed me to play most of my albums but several like The Beatles and Bob Seger I cannot play. The folders I cannot open.

I tried to reload the CDs to the new computer and they are not "accepted" by Itunes. It states the file couldn't be converted. "You don't have access for ITunes Media folder or folder within it. Then it said to change permissions I am unable to do that.

I tried to change permissions but I get lost when it says "Failed to enumerate objects in the container. Access is denied."

I need help!

When I click on the ITunes folder and try to edit settings it then applies the changes and I get "ERROR APPLYING SECURITY" as heading on the notice. It says G: \iTunes\The Bea...\Child Is The Father of The Man-Origina.wav Failed to enumerate objects in the container. Access is denied.

FYI The Group or user names seems to vary per file but the one that seems different when I tried to do the iTunes general is called "CREATOR OWNER". When I change the settings for this name and hit applies it shows multi files as if it is processing request but then the check marks I made disappear.

I have a large collection- 322GB in size. 37,000+ files and 5,000+ folders.

So when I have tried just the iTunes folder it doesn't work so I have had to go to each song. It does not work when I try the album file.

Thank you for your assistance!
