Photo’s saying ‘Not Enough Available Space’ but there is...

Hi guys,

I have the latest model iPad 32GB. Settings > General > About tells me I have 20.86GB of available space.

I am attempting to import 6GB of photos from my SD card but I keep getting a pop-up stating

“Not Enough Space Available. Import requires 2.3GB more space”.

Why is this happening and how do I fix this as I clearly have enough space?

I tried selecting all the images individually, restarting....same issue!

I also note that I have 200GB of iCloud of which only 17.3GB is used. Photos are set to back up to the cloud and the ‘Optimize’ option is switched on. I

thanks in advance.

Available Space is not free storage. "Available" means that the storage may currently be used, but can be purged, if storage is needed by other applications. But the iPhone may not want to purge so many photos at once to free the storage for a large import.

Try to import the photos in smaller batches, not all at once.
