Apple Watch keeps blinking

I’ve had my watch for several years now so it’s one of the original watches. I haven’t used it in a while and one day I decided to start wearing it again. When I connected it to the charging cord it wouldn’t charge. The only thing it does is the Apple logo keeps blinking on and off. I can’t force it to restart or anything. That is what pops up and then fades to black and so on and so.
