Will iphone turn off when not in use?

Hi, i wanted to ask but will my phone turn off by itself when it’s not in use ? I was watching youtube the other night then just slept unexpectedly, will it continue playing and play the next video ? Or will it just turn off by itself once it’s done.

iPhone doesn't shutdown by itself, unless it runs out of power. What you saw was the phone going into sleep mode.
