AirPods on Android - Sound quality & features

Hi,

I'm wondering whether the sound quality of the airpods is the same on an apple phone as it would be an android. I have an android, and am interested in trying out the airpods, but I want to know whether it's worth it. I've heard that if the tapping is set up with another device, the feature will work on android too - but I'm wondering whether the quality would be the same and for those who use it with android find that it's worth it.
