Because an app you downloaded from the App Store charges everybody through the iTunes platform, so the charge on your card statement appears as iTunes/bill for all apps since the charge comes directly from the iTunes platform.

See here: If you see 'itunes.com/bill' or an unfamiliar charge on your statement - Apple Support

Apple says they have not charged me, nothing in my iTunes history

Apple themselves did not charge you, it was the App via the iTunes store platform.

If you found the App in the report a problem website, then it is in your purchase history. At some point you, or someone with access to your Apple ID had to download the app for it to appear in the Report A Problem website. That is part of your history. The most recent part.

To cancel a recurring charge follow the steps here: View, change, or cancel your subscriptions - Apple Support

Charges don't magically appear. The system is set up to prevent this. You needed to have downloaded the App at some point, and if it had a free trial that auto renews into a paid subscription it will do exactly that unless you cancel it more than 24 hours before it is set to renew. There's no fraud here. Only a lack of understanding of how apps and subscriptions in the app store work.

Tried that too. I emailed a case but no answer (been over 48 hours). Chat people had no help. Report a problem only allows me to contact app vendor, who is the scammer. No other choices in report a problem I suppose because the app was free. Scammers know that. Chat says there is no fraud reporting email.

Nobody cares if scam Apps defraud Apple iTune Store users.

I have contacted them case # *** but no reply after 48 hours. Seems that an app that slams customers into subscriptions for Apple Music are not to be addressed. Perhaps its a benefit to Apple's highly aggressive Music sign-up policy.

If anyone else gets slammed report a FRAUD to the credit card bank. And each time it is denied, keep reporting it so Apple gets bad reports and may finally get the message.

  1. Developers are free to set renewable subscriptions on their Apps, and its perfectly normal to have a free trial renew into a paid subscription. Almost all apps with subscriptions do this. Its not a scam.
  2. Its the responsibility of the buyer to understand exactly what the App will do, and how it may charge.
  3. App developers are required to disclose if the App has auto renewing subscriptions, and how they work in the description of the App. This App adheres to that requirement. If you failed to read the description, and understand how it works it is on you.
  4. You can cancel the subscription at any time before the trial is over and it will continue until its set to renew, at which point it will expire and not charge you.

Thanks Phil0124,

How can it be OK for an app to charge me, in the name of Apple iTunes? My charge card charge is in the name of APL*itunes.com. Apple says they have not charged me, nothing in my iTunes history. How is this done without fraud? And how do I stop the app from charging me $9.99 every month in the name of APL*itunes. Aside from cancelling the charge card number. How can a customer trust Apple iTunes charges ever again?
