I updated my iPhone XR to iOS 12.2 last night. Today, Apple News crashes repeatedly as soon as it launches. Restarted my iPhone several times...still happens.
Since iOS 12.2 includes a major change for the Apple News app, I’m guessing I’ll have to live with this until Apple fixes it.

Now, suddenly, it seems to be working. Was there a problem on a server somewhere?
There are quite a few reports of this today. I haven't experienced a problem yet on my Xr running 12.2. Wondering if this may only be happening to people who signed up for the trial of News+ ? I haven't done so yet.
Exactly the same problem with my Apple News, on my Xs. I’ve restarted, tried with and without WiFi, replaced News from the App Store, and still it quits after about 3 seconds regardless. Like you, I upgraded to 12.2 late last night. I have not signed up for the free trial.

I updated my Mac OS and registered for the free trial. Now every time I try to open the app it opens for a second then crashes. Not a very auspicious start for the new Apple News app.
I’m betting a fix will come out for this as soon as the folks in Cupertino wake up this morning and see it on their own iPhones.

Siri has been developed to this—that it can read our thoughts, and correct the servers at Apple? Thank you, IPhone voice with a British accent.
