Do HomePods support playing lossless music streaming

I am thinking of subscribing to either Tidal or Quboz. Will Apple HomePods support lossless music? I have a lot of CD's that I converted to AIFF. Will HomePods play them as AIFF. I tried playing using Apple TV and they didn't really sound any better than my downloads from Apple Music. Thanks

Spotify on HomePod So I found out today that Apple secretly added third party music support to the HomePods. I've been trying to figure out if it's possible to switch the music service on my homepod. I checked under the media section in my Home Settings in the Home app but it only lists Apple Music. Am I missing something or is it not available yet?

Is the HomePod default music source Music app? When I tap one of my HomePods, it is clearly using my iMac music library, but I do not load music into the cloud, nor do I subscribe to Apple Music. Yet, when I ask Siri via HomePod to play something, it says I have no music, presumably because it's expecting it from the cloud or Apple Music. What am I missing?

AirPods max AAC256 or ALAC? If I’m listening to my AirPods max normally, wirelessly and over wifi does it make a difference in audio quality if I enable Apple Music lossless? From what I understand the AirPods max have aac codec so if I enable apple lossless is it pointless or does it enhance the audio quality while streaming Apple Music?

If you stream them from a device that streams AirPlay 2.
