Is the Apple Watch water proof

Depends on witch model you have. Series 3 and 4 are waterproof. Series one and two are water resistant. You can find this on the Apple pages.

Like the others have answered it depends on the model so let us know what you own. However, waterproof only means under certain conditions. They aren't diving watches, but you can wear a Series 3 or 4 while swimming to a certain depth. I think you're also supposed to lock the watch but I never have and haven't had any issues while wearing both my Series 3 or 4 models while swimming or in the shower.
