Can Delete key be used in a custom keyboard shortcut?

Is there a way to use the delete key in a custom keyboard shortcut? For example, in Mail.app, I would like to use Delete to archive a message and ⌘ Delete to delete a message. Is this possible?

Thank you! 🙏🏻

I have checked and it is not possible to use delete as part of a keybind. However, you could create a slightly less intuitive shortcut like command + r (r-chive (if you do command + A you will be overriding the select all command, I don't recommend that) and command + d for delete.

To do this, go to System Preferences > Keyboard > Shortcuts > App Shortcuts > Click on the small + button > Choose Mail from dropdown list > Put Archive (or Delete depending on which you are entering) > and enter the command in the box below (⌘R or ⌘D)
