Logic pro x found 1 audio file in 8 bit format (AGAIN)

Hey all,

I'm working on a 'big opportunity' project, opened the session last night to get this pop up

Followed by this nightmare-ish vision:

Yup.. that's right huge slabs of audio simply DISAPPEARED from my project.

I did not save the tracks anywhere other than my internal HD.

I did not do anything to the files between the moment of saving the project (at which point everything was obviously OK with the files) and the moment of opening of the project to this hellish condition.

I've seen this issue has been raised here several times in the past, yet never did it actually get a proper solution/fix.

Does anyone have an idea how i can retrieve the information on this tracks?

Does anyone have an idea on how this can be avoided?

If you've encountered a similar issue - how do you find working with Logic? Can you fully trust it? Are you migrating to a different DAW?

Honestly.. I'm actually just very sad..

There's something so alienating about a tool you use regularly becoming conspicuously exposed as unreliable.. ooof :(
